Fans expecting 48 Hours on Saturday, October 10, 2026, will find that the series has not yet begun its new regular season.
CBS has confirmed that its investigative newsmagazine returns on Saturday, October 17. The October 10 schedule is affected by college football programming, continuing a series of Saturday interruptions.
Why Were There Different Premiere Dates?
Earlier programme listings had suggested an October 10 return for 48 Hours, creating confusion over when new investigations would begin airing.
CBS subsequently updated its official schedule and announced October 17 as the season premiere. The later date is the one viewers should use when planning to watch the next regular broadcast.
How Can Fans Watch Previous Investigations?
48 Hours has an extensive collection of earlier reports examining criminal investigations, murder cases, missing persons and the experiences of victims’ families.
Selected episodes can be streamed through CBS News, Paramount+ and the official 48 Hours streaming channel. The programme also offers podcasts for audiences who prefer to follow investigations in an audio format.
When Is the Next New 48 Hours Episode?
The next season begins Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 10pm Eastern and 9pm Central on CBS.
The title and case covered in the premiere have not been confirmed in the available official scheduling announcement. Viewers can check CBS’s updated listings closer to the broadcast for the full episode description.
